I just sent this newsletter to my senator Chris Murphy. It is so disturbing that in all the talk I hear and read about what's going on his narcissism and instability is not mentioned. It's as if he were a normal politician....but he is anything but. Scary times.
Erich Fromm agrees with all the comments here and the very strong condemnation of the media’s neoliberal narratives. Few America’s media outlets have the courage or intelligence to protect Americans from men like Netanyahu and Trump who are driven by psychological pathologies. The media is not really holding them to account for their crimes and disregard for law and fairness.
It wasn't just mass media, the social engineering to get Trump elected in 2024 was much deeper & sinister. Even when media gave unfettered platform to Trump to spread his contagion, it wasn't enough to get him through finish line. So plutocrats played every dirty trick possible to get him elected.
But there's a bigger lesson to learn. Just as a Psychotic person is incapable to exercise sound decisions for his well being, a population suffering from mass psychosis is unable to exercise sound electoral decisions for its well being. And destructive policies will not stop after Trump dies, they will continue under new set of politicians because what we face is a systemic malignancy.

I wrote the following to Jeffrey Goldberg after an interview with Jen Psaki, but no matter how many letters I write to the media, I don’t get a response. Thank you Dr. Lee for continuing to pursue the issue of Trump’s mental illness and explaining the nature of its contagion:
Dear Jeffrey:
I just watched your interview with Jen Psaki, and I continue to be amazed that the media does not recognize that Donald Trump is mentally ill and may also be suffering from dementia. Expecting him to have a plan or a strategy about anything is unrealistic.
He's always had narcissistic personality disorder and sociopathy, but now he's cornered, aged, and unable to be coherent. He relies on delusions and avoidance to cope with his growing unpopularity, which is why he talks about pens, his grandiose ideas about redecorating, and not the war in Iran.
As a mental health professional for over thirty years, I am aligned with other mental health professionals who see that this is not a political issue; it's a medical issue. To be specific, a psychiatric emergency.
Why the media still seems to think Donald Trump is capable of explaining anything or capable of planning anything is either blindness or ignorance as to recognizing mental illness. The reason he can’t explain is that he literally cannot make sense due to cognitive impairment.
I would like the media to stop bashing him and focus on his capacity to perform his duties as president. Please begin interviewing mental health professionals regarding our observations and recommendations. Mr.Trump is humiliating himself in front of the entire world, not to mention putting us at great risk because he's so delusional that he can't discern fantasy from reality. And no matter how despicable he is, he needs to be evaluated and removed from office because he's mentally ill. Anyone with severe mental illness needs appropriate care and containment as quickly as possible.

I think you identified the problem larger than Trump. “…the mentally-disturbed will be magnetically attracted to one another.” It’s the only rational explanation for 77 million voters choosing Trump. How are these cult members to be brought back and integrated into a functional society? That’s our future challenge assuming we survive Trump, at least in my very much non-expert opinion.
Have there been any attempts to offer Dr.Lee to be interviewed by PBS and or MSNOW? Media coverage is so important in getting this knowledge available for receptive citizens to have accurate information.
She was fairly busy with interviews and such at the beginning of this crisis (the correct time). Then... magically, she was basically blacklisted by the major, corporate-controlled media outlets, unfortunately!

I'd just add a guess about the inertia of non-voting in this country, within the context of most people in the general population not wanting Trump/MAGA-Republicans (according to poll after poll), combined with MAGA-Republican fanatics exercising that right (despite Trump's hypothetical shooting). Overall, most people eligible to vote don't do so, with Michael Moore considering that virtually the largest political party in this country consists of non-voters. I think--a guess--that these people started turning out to vote in 2018 after Trump got elected in 2016--with a non-majority of popular vote!. The Congress was flipped accordingly, and then the same people turned out to vote in 2020, getting Trump out. Then, regarding the inertia of non-voting, people thought we were rid of Trump for good (almost never do defeated presidential candidates come back later to win--only Grover Cleveland), so things went back to non-voting and Trump/MAGA-Republicans winning yet again by default. I'm just hoping that our genuine majority will wake up and turn out again in November--in such immense numbers so as to overwhelm the MAGA-Republican balloting schemes. I hope!
