I am not an expert on viruses, but some public health principles are basic—such as that an infectious disease, if not contained early, can lead to an exponential spread, uncontrolled mutations, and vaccine insufficiency. As a psychiatrist, I can connect the dots to conclude that the vast majority of 1.1 million American deaths were avoidable, had we had a mentally competent president at the onset of this outbreak.
