Greater Doom and Lesser Capacity to Handle It

For a third year in a row, each anniversary of the January 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol brings a flurry of interview requests, and then silence.  Like Kristen Welker’s diluted treatment of important subjects on “Meet the Press,” or Mehdi Hasan’s sidelining and cancelation, the media seem intent to keep out critical discussions.

Yet, we cannot solve a problem unless we confront it.  Avoiding naming a problem does not make it go away but causes it to grow.  This is particularly true of the perhaps greatest specter that is looming with the dawn of 2024.
