Announcement:
Dr. Bandy X. Lee will be holding a live session of “Assessing the Nation’s Mental Health” on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 1 p.m. EST/10 a.m. PST on Zoom. Please subscribe to receive further announcements one hour before the session. Thank you!
Dr. Lee is a forensic psychiatrist, social psychiatrist, and expert on violence who, since 2017, has endeavored to warn the American public of the societal dangers that would result from someone so mentally-impaired as Donald Trump assuming the U.S. presidency. Three years since the January 6 violent attack of the U.S. Capitol, and following 1.2 million preventable American deaths, climate destruction, nuclear perils, and rampant global and domestic instability, are we any better prepared today? If not, how can we be? Please join us in mapping out 2024!
Thank you for taking the time by sharing your expertise to help inspire the energy that is required in approaching some of these difficult conversations across time zones. Consistently so appreciative of the insights you’re able to share here , to reach a better understanding as it relates to not only current events but also how we’ve arrived at these particular inflection points- Reflection as it relates to humanity actively being able to re-center a more general set of priorities from the present into an unknown though somewhat forecasted future. Where it’s possible to acknowledge the past as available for reference points while being incapable of supporting some of the changes currently required, simply by being out of reach - slightly tangential potentially on my part , just taking time in remembering how far the illumination from each individual flashlight can reach seems worthwhile to hold in the thought process today. Thanks again ✨
Dr Lee,
2024 has changed journalists' openness to honest talk about Trump/s mental state.
I admire your courage in speaking out.
I would like to see more of you on MSNBC.. (e.g. Rev Al Sharpton, Nicole Wallace, Laurence O'Donnell)
These programs afford their professional guests (often attorneys and academics) sufficient time to share complex subjects in a Q and A format..
Your thoughts ?
