When I was a young girl, I saw black people hanging from trees along the side of the highway in Texas. These images are permanently stamped into my mind. I am now older, I have watched as the violence has simmered and bubbled up into a full boil. I believe that violence interruption is the key to setting our nation on to a new path of peaceful existence. I am seeking more knowledge, digging deeper, for a better understanding, so I can help others on this heathier path whenever the opportunity appears. I am an artist writing Laurie’s Substack “Swaying trees…” for the purpose of sharing what I learn about violence interruption. As in every creation, the pieces need to be assembled before they can be turned into something new. I am in the process of assimilation, learning so I can participate in creating a kinder and healthy future for our population. Your assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Mainly upset about SubStack harrasment, email bombing, messing with my account, pushed to the bottom by new algorithems.
At the time when Dr. Lee asked for as a short statement for a scholarship the specific details weren't clearly defined. I didn't choose to write about my personal experiences and publically post details of my life. But, without clear details what could I do? Not apply?
So, maybe delete this personal information.
A big part of being an artist is seeing both beauty and things you don't want to see, witnessing.
