Will the American Psychiatric Association Ever Admit Responsibility?

There was a time—unthinkable now—when the New York Times freely published articles and letters by relevant experts on the dangers of Donald Trump.  Here is one from 2017 that the chief editor later told me was one of the most read letters in the Times’ recent history:

To the Editor:

I am the editor of “The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump: 27 Psychiatrists and Mental Health Experts Assess a President.”  We represent a much larger number of concerned mental health professionals who have come forward to warn against [Mr. Trump’s] psychological instability and … characteristics [that] place our country and the world at extreme risk of danger.
