Dear Dr Lee:

I remember going through the Holocaust Museum in DC, and on TV screens were all of the intellectuals, artists, writers and other creatives who either fled Germany or were slaughtered. Your fight, your brilliance and your commitment to truth, democracy and freedom is both inspiring and demoralizing. Hope your faith can sustain you and bring some peace to your soul, and as my mother (98 when she died) would tell me when I voiced objections to corruption, criminals and those with no moral compass….” They’ll get their’s ……..we can only hope her strong faith in justice was well placed…I do not share her strong faith……please continue to call out what you see…

A travesty! Even if your case is over your excellent work is a beacon for all to follow and adopt. Your resilience is heroic. Please keep informing, writing, distributing your wisdom and know you are appreciated. Looking forward to the next book,

This is indeed a sad day. The fascist tendencies have been supported and are growing constantly now.

It is not only the Republican Party, but, as you point out, the Donors. To individuals, organizations, institutions, and even the Supreme Court. The corruption is deep and widespread.

I am a photojournalist and I have followed your work carefully (and reviewed the first edition of 'Dangerous Case'). I also am well-aware of the viciousness of academic politics. Your original insights and essays (and book) about Trump were abundantly shown to be correct; and his astounding psychopathology also is metastasizing worldwide. Even if the 'Goldwater Rule' were appropriate --I think it is not -- it is irrelevant when the house of democracy is afire. I certainly can't comment on the law and the technicality of this ruling; but I am deeply disappointed in Yale which, of all academic institutions, should 'know better.' "The best revenge is living well", and in your case this means writing as much as possible about the firestorm engulfing liberal democracy. Good luck.

Wow, Bandy...this is upsetting. My heart sinks and I feel weighted down by the injustice you've had to endure. I feel angry also. The twisted mind of Alan Dershowitz twisted reality and maybe even proved the point that you were indirectly making when you called Donald Trump "dangerous," the unstated danger of White, male supremacists' determination to subordinate everyone else using strong-arm tactics. You didn't say that in any way but that is my hunch as to what motivated Dershowitz to target you. He was Jeffrey Epstein's friend and defense attorney; he defended Trump in his second impeachment trial in 2020. Purposely or not, he gives the appearance of defending the white, male power structure and you were casting a disparaging light on the leader of the pack.

The point you're making is a "First they came for the unionists..." kind of point. Indeed, only a few years from the firing of Jewish academics in mid-1930's Germany, came the camps. I'm not expecting anything like that to happen here, but the threat to free speech, yours and everyone else's, seems to be contained in this bogus and ominous ruling. Gratefully, even though they tried to silence you, they didn't know that you were planting seeds.

We fully support you, while echoing and amplifying your warnings to the country. As far as I can tell, you're thriving anyway! I believe the note you sounded in 2017 is being heard by more and more Americans. The unmasking of Trump, even by ethically dubious men like Bill Barr, seems to indicatel a tipping point. Trump is openly being called not only incompetent, but psychologically disordered, unfit to hold any office, much less the presidency. Fascist tendencies are not over in America but I believe you've succeeded in calling attention to the intersection of politics, white male supremacy, and psychopathology, more than you know. Let's keep going...

Dr. Lee you have my deepest respect and heartfelt gratitude. I will never forget how you spoke up for us all, trying to warn everyone about that man. Take heart and know that we have you in their heart and prayers.

Sorry to hear this, Bandy. The slippery soap potential is frightening. Do you think your case would be of interest to the ACLU?

I am so sorry for what has been taken from you — and by extension, from all of us. In this dark time, I recall your bravery when we delivered your “Dangerous Case” book to members of Congress in 2017. You talked about what you would give to help overcome these dangers. I trust that you’ll keep finding ways to use your important and compassionate voice. We’re with you, slogging through these “interesting” times.

Bandy, your writings and books were the only source of hope and clarity for me and my family and many colleagues throughout these past 7 years. I read Profile of a Nation, Trump’s mind and America’s Soul three times and read it out loud to my family. You explained the phenomenon of the public health crisis and the epidemic of delusion. I send my strongest Warrior Angels to ride shotgun on your authentic and courageous journey. The world needs you now more than ever.

I am also grateful for Substack which gives us a chance to support you and follow you more regularly.

Dear Dr. Lee, As you pointed out, your case was not decided on the merits but on a technicality, so the whole issue of free speech was not even considered, let alone won or lost. When one door closes, another one opens. IMHO it is time to move on from Yale and bring your gifts and talents to a place where they will be appreciated and supported for the benefit of all.

This is another shock for us to absorb. I am so angry at this attack on you and the erosion of our democracy on so many levels. I’ve followed you from the beginning-- you gave me and colleagues hope during dark days (especially when few were saw a clear path to protest. As a therapist you gave many of us a clear articulate voice -- your books were and remain hopeful during dark days. This is certainly a blow.

Thank you Dr Lee. Your unwavering commitment to justice and academic freedom is appreciated. Too bad that Yale is all about the Benjamins. I was already boycotting them for their massive tuition fees. A regular ham n egger like me wouldn’t go there for free.

Dr Lee, sorry to know about your case. Broken & declining societies tend to strangulate and suppress dissent of intellectuals.

It takes moral courage to take a stand against malignant normality. I appreciate your effort.
