The events you have endured are still so shocking, disturbing, and of course highly suspicious. It’s tragic that any academic who sees a societal obligation to warn the public of potential harm would be subject to such unconscionable acts. Your actions are commendable, brave, moral, honorable, and absolutely necessary. I admire you for seeking the truth and defending basic rights of academics and psychiatrists. So much for “Lux et Veritas.”
It is sad that so many courts have become politicized with judges making decisions based on what the political ramifications of the ruling will be. It sounds to me as if your case has a solid basis and should proceed to trial rather than being dismissed out of hand.
Your legal case against Yale is critical to preserving and protecting free thought and democracy in America, Bandy. The case you have cogently made evidencing Trump's psychopathy and the hypocrisy of the APA, its former president Jeffrey Lieberman and Alan Dershowitz, et al, in protecting him is dispositive and devastating. Academic freedom dissociated from practical political, social and cultural reality is as vacuous as an individual's claim to power when he or she manifests gross dissociation from objective reality.
Here's wishing you success both for yourself and for the rest of us who understand that mental sanity and freedom of thought are symbiotic. They both require a protected public space to exercise the kindred freedom of speech indispensable to sustaining a democratic republic against the exigent threat of incipient fascism.
Ken, beautifully stated! I see Dershowitz's lobbying for Bandy's dismissal from Yale, and the president of Yale issuing that dismissal as evidence of the creep of "incipient fascism."
It reminds me of how Jewish academics, orchestra conductors, and the like were summarily dismissed from their posts in the early days of Hitler's psychotic regime.
To counter the media darkness undercover of which the silencing of Bandy and menta health professionals has largely occurred, I will contact the Los Angeles Times, media outlets like MSNBC, and associations of mental health practitioners to make sure that the significance if her lawsuit is duly noted.
It's amazing that a man who has grave psychological instability and pose a great threat to America and the world has unlimited freedoms & spreads his destructive ideas freely. While an intellectual like you have your free speech rights undermined by the institutions that you served through the decades. It's a strange world we live in.
Sanjeev, I would add that it's a misogynistic and anti-Asian country that we live in. Or at least Dershowitz's actions could have been motivated by those factors. The perceived need to defend White, male supremacy is often the motive, conscious or not, that operates beneath the surface of interpersonal or political power plays.
The more I learn about this unfortunate dismissal of Dr. Bandy Lee by Yale, the more understanding I gain of the probable reason the letter* I sent to the Yale Alumni Magazine on May 10, 2021 did not appear in the journal. I am hoping for a more propitious outcome as a result of the hearing by the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. *https://1drv.ms/w/s!AvexMTaGOa6lgTbhQKVvAO8FDESV
This is a deep, multi-layered conspiracy against you and everything and everyone you stand for. I feel like I am in Hitler's 1933 Germany, or Putin's Russia. I feel repulsion and fear at the same time towards what is happening in our country. But you are not alone, even though the case is in your name. Keep being courageous, the cause is worth it. We are behind you.

Fingers crossed, Bandy! So appreciate your courage and perseverence as a model for all of us! Been following you for what, six years now. sgn
Good luck Bandy.
Thank you for pursuing this. I hope for the best for you and all of us.
