Eisenhower warned us long ago. Kennedy tried to bring “them” under control. Today, the Military-Industrial-CIA Complex is far more dangerous and in control of civilization-destroying weapons than was imaginable in the days of Ike and JFK.
A few weeks ago, retired CIA Director and 4-star General David Petraeus called for pushing unwilling NATO aside and forming a “Coalition of the Willing” to send more weapons and combat troops to Ukraine. A few days ago, the commander of the U.S. Strategic Command, Admiral Charles Richard, stated: “This Ukraine crisis that we’re in right now, this is just the warmup.” Then he added: “The big one is coming.” Any mention of diplomacy is ridiculed and suppressed.
“They” are indeed warming up with the largest European “war games” in history, sending some U.S. attack military units to Europe for the first time since WW2. “They” are positioning B-52 strategic nuclear bombers in Australia for the first time and using the most advanced B-1 strategic bombers in “preparation exercises” in Korea, understandably rattling not only North Korea but China as well.
This is by far the most unstable situation in multiple places at existential levels ever…. Some kind of statement from academics of many disciplines could at least bring sobriety and suggest alternative policies, but will they? Not likely where massive increases of money and power are flowing to the Pentagon, CIA, NSA, and secret war preparations, essentially giving “them” the wherewith-all to turn a “warmup” into “the big one.”
If we psychiatrists had the responsibility to speak about Donald Trump in 2017, we have the responsibility to speak about our risk for collective suicide in 2022.
Indeed, the proverbial wolves, “they”, are at the door.
You spoke early and often about Trump and here we are. We are so splintered by empowering entertainment disguised as journalism, mental health experts, historians, legal experts that ignore academics and experts like you are ignored, especially from the field of mental health.
it's understood why you'd focus on the *larger picture, but your perspective on America's family court system is valuable, timely.
