You have done everything possible. I don't know how we move forward from here.

Dr Lee I am so very appreciative of your expertise and work sharing about the physiological characteristics and effects of this dangerous individual. I consider you extremely important and I value your thoughts and expert opinions. I would be most grateful that you continue to share. 🙏

Trump's political appointments since winning re-election seem to be some sort of acting-out in what might be described as a narcissistic rage, akin to taking a defiant wrecking ball to our government for his perceived previous rejections of him and the prosecutions and ridicule of him.

Dr. Bandy Lee has contributed to the expansion of what I hope will be a broader field of endeavor, studying and exposing the apparent psychopathologies of those elected and appointed to high public office. It is obvious that this is necessary in our world of billionaires striving to become trillionaires, and at the expense of the masses.

Let us not forget those that tried to silence Dr. Lee, such as Alan Deshowitz, and to the great harm of our society that needs to better recognize the dangers of unstable, dishonest, and disturbed politicians.

I’d love to say you’ve done everything you can to make our society kinder and healthier. But, like you, I will not and have never allowed darkness to dim the light within me. Though it feels sometimes like being alone in the wilderness at times, there are so many like you in the Resistance who will persist. Find actions near you now, whether it is helping with refugee and migrants, women and families in need, organizers in the Pro-Democracy and Resistance movements, civil and human rights organization. If there’s a takeaway in this moment, activism is more about important now, than ever. March on.

Thank you for everything you do. I have deeply admired you since your public stance on how terribly dangerous Trump is to our nation, at your own expense. I would very much like to know more about what you've written about Nancy Pelosi. This is the first time I've read anything on this subject. Please flesh it out. Many thanks, Katherine Sherpa (retired psychiatrist)

Yesterday, I read a blistering attack on Nancy Pelosi's interference in House politics. She is in Germany recovering from a broken hip, yet from her bed she apparently destroyed the plan that Jamie Raskin and some other of the "best" good guys had organized to put AOC as the Minority Ranking Member of the Oversight Committee. Apparently this will be one of the most important tools that Democrats will have to fight the pugs. AOC has sat with Raskin and he has taught her everything he knows. Because she is so vibrant, so intelligent, such a powerful speaker -- and very attractive to young people who don't bother to vote -- she was the perfect choice for the position. Nancy decided that SHE knew best, and began pushing her weight around with phone calls galore to House members. She insisted that the "institutional rules" be followed: that people rise to top positions on House Committees by seniority, NOT by ability. The next in line was Gerry Connolly -- who has throat cancer. Apparently he is a very good person, however he is NOT forceful, NOT dynamic, and will NOT appeal to young voters. (It's interesting, though, as I think about it, that she was the force who demanded that Biden resign -- and of course the issue was his age. That's different though, of course, because seniority is not an "institutional rule" in the White House.) Anyway, those are just my thoughts.

Yes, I agree. I very much find her strong opinions dabbling in international affairs are a problem for me. It’s even diminished my trust of what she writes in her own area of scholarly expertise. Pretty sure she’s not sitting at the table with our National Security Council and has no clue the real level of threat. Though I do believe 45 cannot be allowed the keys to our Oval Office as there will be nothing and no one to restrain him in another term.

I hadn't read any of her writings about international affairs. What you are writing is odd.

Dr. Lee writes: 'Given where we find ourselves today, I am turning my attention to the foundational changes that we need—which may reach as far as to require a “change of soul.”'

A foundational approach to changing our actions acknowledges that the core of human nature is neither our Ego nor Self, which is why psychology rarely goes deep enough in the transformation of our being.

Human nature is not set in stone, but is in the grip of our habit of seeing the world and ourselves through the prism of Ego, which is the fiery powerhouse of motivating energy within us that psychologists call the subconscious in order to deflect responsibility for human action.

Viewing the world without Ego is to discover Oneness. The bulk of our potential experience of the divine can only be encountered without Ego.

Thank you for writing about the destructive nature of Ego. I think Buckminster Fuller would agree. He proposed a shift (possible when one understands scientific advancement from a synergistic perspective) from a "me or you" world to a "me and you" world. Here's Bucky talking about this for about 2 1/2 minutes...

That's a fascinating clip of Bucky. When I was a teenager, I recall being enthralled by his book, I Seem To Be a Verb. He's describing a Non-Egoic Scientific Dialectic.

No-Ego discussions seem to piss everyone off equally. The scientific don't recognize their science and consider them too religious and the religious don't recognize their theology and consider them too scientific. I doubt technocratic society will survive long in a recognizable form, but if the species does manage to keep some technology, it will be through Non-Egoic awareness of life. Instead of "me and you," it's "we."

This doesn't mean we're not each unique, creative individuals, but that children need Ego to organize their biochemistry, while similar to baby-teeth, adults must consciously lose Ego to mature.

In case you're interested, here are two links: one to an unfinished web page for the book, No Ego Odyssey, Volume 1, and one to the first essay in the book, which will be available at the beginning of next year.

Dear Dr. Lee,

Learning more about your commitment to world peace and efforts pre-dating Trump, I can only say I stand with you and honor your voice of sanity and reason in a world too full of insanity and outrage.

In my own ways, I have attempted to inject reason and logic into the national and international conversations over the years. And even though I have no where near your professional status, I have occasionally at least gotten to make some statements that were recorded and can, hopefully, help shake up how people think about the options we have. (I also used to write for The Huffington Post.) These statements include finally getting to ask an "outside the box" question at a 2019 meeting at the UN (of the United Nations Association of the USA). My question was to a panel discussing how to "control" nuclear weapons. And I probably sounded like a "man from Mars" because I said we could "control" them by discovering they are obsolete (because war itself is an obsolete method of solving global conflicts... something I learned many years ago from Buckminster Fuller.

Below is a link to my 2019 question. And I fully support the point you ended this essay with: "The work before us is creative, tactical, and strategic; and we must rise to it thoughtfully, in collectivity."

This is my focus now as well... looking to offer a pathway out of this crisis based on my studies many years ago with systems thinking masters: Dr. Fuller as well as W. Edwards Deming, and Russell Ackoff.

Thank you for all you have done and continue to do! See you on your Zoom call on Friday!

How to Stop Authoritarians Before They Start

🔸️FITNESS FOR DUTY EVALUATIONS that are mandatory, like the military for high responsibility positions, would have stopped Trump before he got within a mile of the White House. True for every dictator, authoritarian, and oligarch worldwide.

Bandy X Lee, Steven Hassan, and 100 other psychiatrists agree Trump has five dangerous mental pathologies as listed in the books "The More Dangerous Case of Donald Trump" and "The Psychology Of Trump Contagion - An Existential Threat to American Democracy and All Humankind".

In one fell swoop, Fitness for Duty Evaluations worldwide, stops every dictator, authoritarian, and oligarch.

🔸️Fitness for Duty Evaluations start with everyone who interacts with the individual in question, and when red flags start to appear, 'say something.'

The US Military has procedures to follow that require individuals in question to have a Fitness for Duty Evaluation. Voters must demand the House and Senate do the same.

🔸️Outside the military are professionals like Dr. Bandy X. Lee who has several dozen colleagues all of whom are highly qualified to do Fitness for Duty Evaluations.

The U.S. House and Senate have several mechanisms to enforce their rules, including:

* Leadership

* Committees

* Floor Procedures

* Party Discipline

It's important to note that these mechanisms are not always used consistently or effectively. The more voters demand mentally fit leaders the more the House and Senate will comply.

🔸️I like what forensic psychologist Dr. Bandy X. Lee says that fascism and authoritarianism are just dangerous mental pathologies that worm their way into politics.

Everyone on Earth deserves and demands leadership that is mentally fit.

Fitness for Duty Evaluations performed by well respected psychiatrists ensures every country has leaders who do not serve their own power, but serve their own people.

With a pool of mentally fit candidates, we then have all the elections we wish.

I appreciate your decade-long efforts Dr. Lee to prevent Trump from being re-elected, and it is beyond frustrating that your rational message was not able to get to the majority of voters.

I am concerned though that many of the statements in your current newsletter are themselves pro-Pution propaganda, as you seem to be influenced by some far left sources who are actually working against democratic nations. Quoting Oliver Stone and his documentary? And there have been instances before this in other newsletters also. Maybe you can ask Dave Troy to explain the horseshoe theory to you, or otherwise consider that you are not an expert in geopolitics and confine your comments to your area of expertise.

Perhaps you can comment on the extremist religious groups who are behind Project 2025, and who ex-evangelical Frank Schaeffer names in detail in his video on the topic, who he says made a second deal with Trump to win the 2024 election in exchange for being able to impose the Christian autocracy that they want to transform American society into?

The Doomsday Clock is an interesting publicity device, but I base my views on the threat of nuclear war more on the intelligence, emotional stability, and reasoning powers of the world's major leaders.

And the two biggest -- the Bloated Yam and Putin -- have none.

We will all be dead within three years.
