There does seem to be a global confluence of dangerous events now gaining strength: Trump's election, The Coup, Washington corruption and dysfunction, societal disintegration, Israeli-Arab conflict again. But why? and Why Now? We cannot not know the answers until this crisis is long past and we have perspective. This poem captures this moment:
The Second Coming

Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.
Surely some revelation is at hand;
Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi
Troubles my sight: somewhere in sands of the desert
A shape with lion body and the head of a man,
A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,
Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it
Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds.
The darkness drops again; but now I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep
Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
And the power hungry and sociopathic intuitively prey upon and depend on our collective fight or flight system for the general population stuck in flight! There are some fighters amongst us and let's hope that we can prove Yates wrong and those of conviction can grow a pair :-) whether it seems hopeless or not shouldn't be the determinate of lighting the fire under our butts. We only need to be doing something at least in the end to say that we did. This is they put your money where your mouth is moment like they had in the thirties and forties

I think this is why so many people just can’t and won’t deal with the GOP, Maga, Republican, Russia, Ukraine connection .
