Dr. Lee ty for your continued education. While having read your books, these weekly posts help those of us advocating for the need of mental health intervention at this time extremely helpful in that we can share your scholarship and further educate to the need for mental health intervention We are so grateful and respect you.

To those who may not yet be aware, one of our Friday Zoom call members shared a substack interview from April 25th from the Hopium Chronicles where Simon Rosenberg interviewed Minnesota AG Keith Ellison. I will share the link. At the 13:50 spot in the interview AG Keith Ellison asks for help from the disciplines of social wirk AND mental health experts. He further comments on the need for artistry and spirituality at this time to help find solutions to our current pathology. When I heard him speak, I thought, "oh my goodness, HE GETS IT! He must call Dr. Lee. I called and left a voicemail message for him at 800 657 3787. I emailed him with Dr. Lee's contact info at AG.replies@AG.State.MN.US

It wouldn't hurt if he suddenly received messages from all of us encouraging him to reach out to Dr. Lee. He is the First I've heard express and recognize the need and ask for the help. I am going to email him again this am and share this post from Dr. Lee. I hope if you can you will Join me in this effort. We have nothing to lose. I thank everyone who reads this for their time and consideration. We feel the urgent need to act now. Ty again.

I watched the interview of AG Ellison and what impressed me most was how, when it seemed like Simon Rosenberg was wrapping up, he interjected to ask if he could say a little more, which was that we need more input from psychologists and experts in mental health. He seems to see how that part of understanding those who make our government run is lacking, and the value of adding in that vast, untapped expertise.

If you agree or even think “it can’t hurt and we need all the help we can get”, like this comment, the original post, restock, and SHARE! Thanks :)

I am afraid we are a little too far down the road to take option 3 and steer clear of the destruction. As Sam Rayburn once said, "Any jackass can kick down a barn, but it takes a good carpenter to build one."

"Extinction Level Event Headed Straight for Earth"

Our Psychological and Political Pandemic DR. BANDY X. LEE

🔸️Mental pathology in a president is a public matter. The more severe the mental pathology the less one will recognize that one is even ill.

🔸️Every other job that deals with life or death has a mental fitness evaluation as a requirement, even before one takes the position.

🔸️Without mental fitness evaluations, the public needs to know the danger of certified madness in politics. When dangerous mental pathologies are allowed to spread like a pandemic, an Extinction Level Event is headed straight for Earth. The U.S. could be a shining example of how to stop dangerous mental pathologies before they worm their way into politics but it is now left with "emergency cleanup on aisle madness'.

I keep being reminded of an excellent essay by Masha Gessen, one that she had published just after Trump's first election to office in 2016. She knows, having worked in Russia and met Putin. It keeps ringing as true as what Dr. Lee tries to tell people.

Richard, Massa Gessen’s article from soon after the 2016 election is chilling when read today. When many of the leaders of the opposition to Trump spoke of the future in terms of bipartisan good faith, we all knew better.

Mental illness does not just go away. Without personal acknowledgment, a support system, and some kind of personal epiphany, a person with mental pathology will continue to deteriorate. Donald Trump is what he is…a pathological liar and con man.

We must save our country and our future by acting effectively NOW. Thank you for the link to Gessen’s articles.

Thank you, Dr. Lee, for articulating the need to choose wisely in unfavorable circumstances. Continually reinforcing and underlining correct choices counter to popular wrong directions is what enables persons of integrity to function as "the salt of the earth" (Matthew 5:13, NKJV, 1992), with a preserving effect upon humankind in general, as well as on our environment.

Thank you, Dr. Lee. I think your post speaks to what I call "Universal Human Transmissions" of feeling unprotected, deprived, abused, frustrated, etc. We entered a traumatized world and gradually made our relationship to a system which was both sustaining, expansive, and abusive. The abusive side is in power now, but the sustaining and expansive sides are here too. I think using this time as our personal psycho-spiritual-cultural struggle to become better people, more aware of the roots of abuse - in greed, hatred, and selfishness - and resolving to overcome them - is key. I don't know what system will emerge as the pendulum swings back and the glaring incompetence becomes even more apparent. I don't know fully which actions will make the difference. But the delusions of Wealthy White Men and Christian Nationalists must be named and broken. We are in an era of warring mind states.

I wrote this before the election, but it still holds up.

I just finished my article with similar conclusion. Fascism is a self destructive phenomenon. Why it's self destructive? French thinker Daniel Geurin has explained it in some detail in his book - 'Fascism and big business'.

I have no doubt that Donald Trump will destroy himself. Problem is he's also destroying the world with him. He's like a KAMIKAZE.

I actually don't have any surprises about Trump - for everything you said Dr Lee has now come to past. What astonishes me is how such an imbecile and insane person was allowed to reach White House. Not once but twice.

Observing Trump in last few weeks, i get a feeling that he's high on drugs to preserve functionality near end of his life. His memory appears to be badly failing. His slip ups are increasing. I suspect that he doesn't even take full White house briefings these days to remain informed on outside world. We don't know his health status because all his health reports are kept secret. US Govt has now become the most opaque & secretive ever.

And, let us not overlook the many violations of the Emoluments Clauses of the Constitution, including the latest, the 'memecoins' the Trumps are promoting now. Unlimited, untraceable money from anywhere in the world.

I am most concerned that so called resistance movements are not focused on societal mental health. Many seem to still think the Democratic Party is actually going to do something significant when they aren't.
